What you’d ask before connecting anything.

Straight answers on access, credentials, price, your data, and what mktrades isn’t. If yours isn’t here, email hello@mktrades.com.

Access

Is mktrades really read-only?

Yes. We only ask for exchange API keys with trade and withdrawal permissions switched off. Wallets connect by public address, which can’t sign anything.

A read-only key can’t move, trade or withdraw your assets, so neither can we. Your assets stay at your exchange, broker or wallet; mktrades never takes custody of them.

Do you ever see my credentials?

We never ask for your exchange password, 2FA codes, private keys or seed phrases. We ask for a read-only API key you create yourself and can revoke from your exchange at any time.

Read-only API keys are encrypted in transit and at rest.

If anyone claiming to be mktrades asks for a seed phrase, it isn’t us.

The product

Which exchanges, brokers and wallets are supported?

Three kinds of connection: read-only API keys for crypto exchanges, broker accounts connected read-only, and public addresses for on-chain wallets.

We’ll publish the named list before accounts open. We would rather not name a venue until its connection works end to end.

What are the 80+ metrics?

Six families. Each metric runs on every position it applies to, then on the portfolio as a whole. A few from each:

Concentration
Position weight, top-five share, Herfindahl–Hirschman index, sector and asset-class exposure.
Risk & drawdown
Maximum drawdown, 30- and 90-day volatility, beta to BTC and to the S&P 500, 95% value at risk, Sharpe and Sortino ratios.
Liquidity
Order-book depth within 2% of the mid price, bid–ask spread, average daily volume, days to exit a position, perpetual funding rate.
Drift & correlation
Drift from your target weights, pairwise correlation, diversification ratio, effective number of independent bets.
On-chain
Top-10 holder share, exchange inflows and outflows, token unlock schedule, mint and freeze authority, liquidity-pool lock status, contract upgradability.
Fundamentals
P/E and forward P/E, revenue growth, free-cash-flow margin, debt to equity, insider transactions, short interest.

On-chain checks run only on crypto, and fundamentals only on equities.

How is the score worked out?

Every position is measured against those metrics and graded on four sub-scores: diversification, risk, liquidity and conviction. They roll up into one portfolio score out of 100.

The score describes the portfolio you have. It doesn’t predict returns. The live preview shows the full breakdown on a simulated portfolio.

Is the data on the preview real?

No. The preview runs on a simulated portfolio: invented holdings, prices and alerts, identical for every visitor. It shows how mktrades reads a portfolio, not how any real portfolio performed.

Beta & price

When can I get in?

mktrades is in closed beta, and accounts haven’t opened yet. When they do, we’ll let people in from the waitlist in small batches. There’s no public date, and we won’t invent one.

Join the waitlist and you’ll get one email when your slot opens.

What does it cost?

Nothing during the closed beta, and we don’t ask for a card. Beta members get a founding discount when paid plans launch. The pricing page has the details.

Your data

Where is my data stored?

Right now we hold the email you give the waitlist, with the date and the country the request came from. It’s stored in an Upstash database. Resend delivers your confirmation and a copy of the signup to our own inbox. Vercel hosts the site.

Your IP address is never stored; we keep only a one-way hash of it, to rate-limit the form. The site sets no cookies, and page views are counted in aggregate.

Before anyone can connect a portfolio, we’ll update the privacy policy to say where that data is stored.

How do I delete my data?

To leave the waitlist, reply to the confirmation email or write to hello@mktrades.com and we’ll remove you.

Once accounts open, you can disconnect any exchange or wallet at any time. Closing your account deletes or anonymises your personal data within a reasonable period, apart from anything the law requires us to keep. The privacy policy sets out your rights.

Limits

Is mktrades a financial adviser?

No. mktrades is not a regulated financial adviser, and nothing it shows is advice or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything.

It’s an analytics tool: it tells you what your portfolio is doing. What you do about it is your decision. For advice, talk to a regulated adviser. See section 2 of the terms.

Can I rely on the score?

Treat it as a measurement, not a guarantee. A score is only as good as the market and third-party data behind it, which can be delayed or wrong. Markets move, crypto especially, and you can lose money whatever the score says.
